Jim Durham vs. Spiro Dedes
I was listening to the Lakers driving home and compared the national radio broadcast (Jim Durham) to local Laker announcer Spiro Dedes. At first I thought Jim Durham was a master announcer. Jim just sounds so professional but it is hard to picture what is going on. Spiro on the other hand gave a clearer and more detailed description. With Spiro, I was able to envision Kobe driving to the right and pulling up for a 8 ft. jumper. For the average fan, Durham trumps Dedes because of his voice inflection and passion. Durham makes the game sound like a battle. I suspect a hard core basketball fan would prefer Dedes.

Why isn't Les Moonves fired yet?
Why isn't Les Moonves fired yet? As of today CBS' market cap is 2.28 Billion dollars and dropping like a rock. CBS has 7 Billion dollars in debt and a lousy 419 million dollars in cash.
Wasn't it Moonves that purchased CNET for an absurd 1.8 Billion dollars?
What is the synergy between CBS and CNET anyway?

Carol Bartz is as good as you can get?
Yahoo's decision to hire Carol Bartz is a head scratcher. A technology company needs a CEO who understands the business and has worked creating it products and features. Hiring a longtime software person who worked on desktop software is not good enough. The CEO has to have vision, taste, and operational experience of said products of said industry. Brad Garlinghouse (the author of the peanut butter memo) would have been my pick.
Carol Bartz's hiring has failure all over it. :(
Lets see a year from now how my Yahoo does.

Arrington posted this video of techie elites partying in Cyprus. It is looked upon as the last video of the Web 2.0 bubble.
Personally it made me smile. Looks like a blast.
I am married with children and miss going on group vacations.

How to increase Sprint's market cap by 25% in a day
Sprint could increase its market cap by 25% if it would only announce LTE as its 4g solution. Imagine moving from three incompatible networks (CDMA, iDen, and WiMax) to a single modern network.
But no, Sprint will continue its disastrous and incompatible data only WiMax strategy. The network will not sustain it self without phone revenue. Still no Wimax phones seem to be in the pipeline.

I am voting for Joad Cressbeckler
Finally a candidate I can get behind. Cressbeckler clearly wins on the following issues:
Foreign Policy
McCain: Would not talk to enemy nations. Dislikes Asians.
Cressbeckler: Hates all foreigners. Has refused to speak to any his entire life.
Health Care:
McCain: Citizens should fend for themselves
Cressbeckler: Flask of whiskey, needle and thread for all.
Energy
McCain: Keep drilling for oil
Cressbeckler: Use immigrants
Old, Grizzled Third-Party Candidate May Steal Support From McCain
